I have here my own art done in various teqniques starting with an artist's proof done with ietcher's ink and oil paint here in late 1970's through my series of daily eight watercolors done on watercolor paper, my ink drawings, too done in black watercolor or ink actually at the Outer Banks of North Carolina, to a imagined portrait sketch in black ink as well. Some of the work I also have done here at home in northern Virginia.
I love working, or did anyway in Paris, France with zinc metal plates that I would etch and then print. Much of my art is what I call ' an artist's proff ' , as I like having many ' one-of-a-kind ' pieces as I believe individually and then as a whole stand up in a much more interesting way and show the actual process which I value more than determining one final result that trumps the others. That is just something I do not really believe : it is always the sum of the many parts, each important and worthy of display in this instance. This etching I am showing here at selling for $100.00. Hope you like it. It is inspired by the news of the death of my Uncle Mort and by being in Paris, France when I heard this and reading, too Emile Zola's books at the time. 4/7/2015
My watercolor daily series here are inspired by being at the beach and in the country or at least outside and my reactions to what my sense's are receiving at the time. These are six inches long by four and a half high watercolors and so these series at this size I sell as a whole at $200.00 or, if I must breal them up I sell them as $65.00 a piece. I encourage people to buy the sreies and own the whole production of that moment of that day of mine, and to display them together like this or individually-framed and displayed for maximum pleasure. I do them all once and rarely stop until I have finished the series in one time, not spread out over time. I like to start and finish at the same moment as to preserve the way I am responding to it in all it's glory and energy and excitement and appeal. Cheers.
I also like to do black-and-white pieces. Often I start with black-and-white when I arrive at the beach and get into the mood and into the ' new landscape ' of ours as a family as we vacation, relax and enjoy thoroughly. Below we were at Avon in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
My inspirations are many, many artists have inspired me, but when I work I rather simply be caught-up in the moment , the mood, the energy, the flow, and the emotion and magic of my/ our setting.
I often work from one of our many decks, often the upper deck, but sometimes a lower one, too. I look out and about and make a full circle of my body and look at everything, inhale, take it all in , and try and capture ' my take ' on what I am seeing, observing, serving, then serving up to you, witnessing and ' jumping onto ' to be taken where I might by the energies and forces all around me, before being dropped or left-off, as they move along perhaps further than I am willing to go at that moment?!
These black-and-white drawings I sell for $80.00 a piece. Cheers.
Sometimes I draw imagined portraits of people from my head as this one below and it is also $80.00. Sometimes I know exactly who I am drawing and other times I just let the pen or brush or crayon or pastel flow and be caught-up by the energy inside and outside of me. I am happy to just be going on a ride and letting other forces, as well as my own, take me where they will, of my own free will, of my own excitement, and belief and trust and smile and smirk and warmth and trust that all will be interesting, most of it all will be good and positive, and I will have both enjoyed and learned from the ride I allowed myself to go on. Cheers.
If you are interested in purchasing any of these pieces please email me at : tonythewineguy@gmail.com and we will make the appropriate arrangements to get you together with these various pieces of my art. Cheers, Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn 4/ 7 /2015
