My Black-And-White Watercolors - Anthony Quinn Series Of Six Called " Family " Watercolored On August 17th, 1991 , Saturday At Midnight After Watching The Movie " Wild At Heart."

I like to work in series as I use watercolors or pastels and oil pastels, sometimes combining them with ink, and pen and pencil, too.

This is a series of six that I did late at night around midnight on Saturday, August 17th, 1991 on watercolor paper with just black watercolor inspired by my family of three at that time. My wife and I had watched the David Lynch movie that night " Wild At Heart." The watercolor above is the first of the six I watercolored that night. The watercolor above is number two of six. They are shown here in order from one through six. Done at home on Ellen Avenue, our first house.

I work quickly, I like to capture the very seconds of my inspiration in all their rawness and purity, uncompromising and real and honest in every sense : not touched-up : the essence , the moment.

I like the idea , too that my figures become the background and that the background become the figures : both essential to the other.

This is 2/16 black-and-white watercolors I did on June 27th, 1991, and I call it : " Struggling to find the structure to our back yard."  $65. Same size, all the same size.

This black-and-white watercolor is 3/16 I did on June 27th, 1991 and I call it : " A liquid/ fluid mental play to our backyard." $65

This balck-and-white watercolor I did like the others in our first house in Northern Virginia on Ellen Avenue and I call this 4/16  : " Patio look out over backyard." $65. Cheers, I will post the others as I have time.

I scanned these and then posted them here, they are not the complete pieces as my scanner does not allow me to copy the whole sketches, I will take photos of the complete works, but enjoy these as they are. I would sell them as two as they are done as a set of two here in a series over a day. The two pages would sell for $80. The artwork I did with watercolors and pastels at the Outer Banks of North Carolina and is for sale, inspired by our setting and being on vacation and able to relax and enjoy my time-off from work. Free-handed, raw and instantaneous, uncompromising in the instant mood and feeling of the moment that I hopped a ride on to be a part of something wonderful and much larger than myself. Cheers.

I do work in series and so all the art is related here in some way and often done in spurts of energy and enthusiasm and flows for the period that I can batch a wave so to speak and while the energy and the time is there uninterupted before others call on me. Cheers!
